Abstract

A machine configured to detect the degradation of lubricating oil is provided with a cleaning member configured to clean a lubricating oil degradation sensor. A machine body is provided with a sensor-side part in which the lubricating oil degradation sensor is installed, and a cleaning member-side part which is movable with respect to the sensor-side part and in which the cleaning member is installed. The lubricating oil degradation sensor is provided with a light-emitting element, a color light-receiving element, and a gap forming member having gap forming surfaces between which an oil gap configured such that the lubricating oil enters therethrough is formed. The gap forming member transmits light emitted by the light-emitting element. The oil gap is disposed in a light path from the light-emitting element to the color light-receiving element. The cleaning member is disposed at a position that is in contact with the gap forming surfaces when the sensor-side part and the cleaning member-side part move relative to each other.
