Abstract

The invention discloses a self-adaptive layered video transmission method based on channel characteristics. The method can provide different kinds of protection for video data with different levels of importance in a physical layer so as to improve the video restoration quality finally. According to the technical scheme, the method comprises the steps that a video sequence is read in by a sending end, videos are encoded by an SVC encoder, a BL bit stream and an EL bit stream which are generated during encoding are modulated through 16QAM, subcarrier distribution and power distribution are carried out according to CSI transmitted by a feedback channel, serial-parallel conversion is carried out on a BL symbol and an EL symbol, parallel signals are mixed and undergo IFFT, a cyclic prefix is inserted, parallel-serial conversion is carried out, and an OFDM transmission symbol is sent to a channel; the process of the receiving end is opposite to the process of the sending end, the obtained bit streams are input into an SVC decoder to be decoded to obtain BL data and EL data, a receiver with weaker receiving capacity receives the BL data and restores the low-resolution videos, and a receiver with stronger receiving capacity receives the two layers of data and restores the high-resolution videos.
