Abstract

The method includes the step that in the minimized drive test process, a node conducts optimization and limitation on the times for conducting triggering to obtain the location information according to local configuration after receiving MDT configuration information which contains the measurement requirement for triggering to obtain location information, wherein the node comprises a terminal or a network element of a switching network. The device is the terminal or the network element of the switching network and comprises a receiving module and an optimizing and limiting module, wherein the receiving module is used for receiving the MDT configuration information which contains the measurement requirement for conducting triggering to obtain the location information, and the optimizing and limiting module is used for conducting optimization and limitation on the times for triggering to obtain the location information according to the local configuration. Through the minimized drive test method and device, the times for initiatively conducting triggering to obtain the location information through the terminal are reduced, the energy consumption problem of the minimized drive test terminal is solved on the premise of obtaining the accurate location information, and therefore the aim of improving the network function is achieved.
