Abstract

The invention provides a selective breeding method of good quality seeds of polygonum multiflorum. The selective breeding method comprises the following steps of: screening variety variation according to shapes, colors and luster of leaves on the aspect of selecting the high-quality seeds; and investigating individual differences of single plants from three factors including the shape and the weight of a tuber and the content of a main active component of the tuber. According to the selective breeding method disclosed by the invention, the screening efficiency of the good quality seeds is higher than that in the conventional single-factor screening investigation so as to be good for ensuring a stable inheritable character strain; the good quality seeds obtained by using the selective breeding method of the improved variety are increased by about 200% when being compared with cultivated wild breeder seeds; and the selective breeding method of the good quality seeds, disclosed by the invention, is strong in operability and simple, and is suitable for large-scale implementation.
