The invention provides a hybrid local area network communication system which comprises a first wireless subnet, a second wireless subnet and a wired communication network, wherein the first wireless subnet, as well as the second wireless subnet, comprises external routing sites and relay sites and is connected with the wired communication network through the external routing sites; the relay sites and the external routing sites, which are on the same wireless subnet, are in data transmission through wireless network; and the first wireless subnet and the second wireless subnet are in data transmission through the wired communication network and two external routing sites. The invention further provides a corresponding method. According to the invention, the communication in the wireless network is realized through the wireless network, and the communication between the two wireless networks is realized through the wired communication network.
