The invention discloses an environmentally-friendly automobile engine coolant which is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 30-70 parts of propylene glycol glucoside, 30-70 parts of water, 0.5-0.7 part of sodium hydroxide, 0.4-0.6 part of sodium nitrite, 0.5-0.7 part of sebacic acid and 0.2-0.4 part of benzotriazole. The novel environmentally-friendly automobile engine coolant, disclosed by the invention, is prepared by carrying out chemical reaction on starch and propylene glycol which are utilized as the raw materials in the presence of a catalyst (acid) at a certain temperature, using a generated product (propylene glycol glucoside) as a matrix of a deicing fluid, and preparing a small number of an antirusting agent, an antifouling composition and a foam suppressor. The environmentally-friendly automobile engine coolant adopts the propylene glycol glucoside for the deicing fluid; the propylene glycol glucoside has the advantages of no toxicity, harmlessness, good biodegradability and the like; the propylene glycol glucoside per se also has functions of sterilization and corrosion prevention; and the environmentally-friendly automobile engine coolant is completely environmentally-friendly.
