Abstract

The embodiments of the invention disclose a method, device and system for forwarding data frames of Virtual Private Local area network Service (VPLS), which include: receiving a static Media Access Control (MAC) address installation message including the MAC address corresponding to a multicast source port of the VPLS, parsing said static MAC address installation message to obtain said MAC address, installing said MAC address into a static forwarding table, and forwarding data frames on the basis of said static forwarding table when receiving the data frames from a leaf client. Each leaf Provider Edge (PE) can support VPLS multicast service without modifying the forwarding plane, therefore the cost of devices is reduced, the seamless upgrade of the VPLS network is facilitated and the complexity of the network upgrade deployment is reduced.
