Abstract

The invention discloses a production method of ammonium iodide, comprising the following steps of: (1) reacting hydroiodic acid with ammonia water to generate an ammonium iodide solution; (2) heating to concentrate the ammonium iodide solution generated from the step (1) under an ordinary pressure, and stopping heating when concentrating till crystals are to appear; (3) dripping a hydrazine hydrate solution to the ammonium iodide solution so that the ammonium iodide solution is changed from orange red to white; (4) continuously heating to concentrate till white ammonium iodide crystals appear; and (5) filtering the crystals, and drying at a low temperature. According to the production method disclosed by the invention, direct heating and concentration are carried out under the ordinary pressure, the hydrazine hydrate reacts with precipitated free iodine to generate the ammonium iodide, therefore, not only is the production efficiency improved, but also the yield rate of products is enhanced.
