Embodiment Construction

[0058] figure 1 Shown is a vertical section through a condensation dryer 1 according to a first embodiment (hereafter simply referred to as "dryer"), in which the heating of the process air is effected exclusively by means of the condenser of the heat pump.

[0059] figure 1 The dryer 1 shown in has a drum 3 as a drying chamber 3 that can rotate around a horizontal axis, and a lifter 4 for moving laundry while the drum rotates is attached inside the drum 3 . Process air flows through the drum 3 and the heat pumps 13 , 14 , 15 in the air channel 2 in a closed circuit (process air circuit 2 ) by means of a fan 19 . After flowing through the drum 3, the moist heat treatment air is cooled and, after condensation of the moisture contained in the treatment air, heated again. In this case, the hot air enters the drum 3 from the rear side, that is, from the side opposite to the door 5 of the drum 3, through the rear part of the drum 3 having through holes, and in the drum 3, the h...

Abstract

The invention relates to a condensation dryer (1) with a drying chamber (3) for the objects to be dried, a process air circuit (2), a first fan (19) in the process air circuit (2), a heat pump (13, 14, 15, 17) in which a coolant circulates, an evaporator (13), a compressor (14), a condenser (15) and a throttle (17) as well as a temperature sensor (22) for measuring a temperature of the coolant, a cooling device (16, 20) for the heat pump (13, 14, 15, 17) and a controller (10), wherein first means (26) are provided for comparing, by way of a limit temperature TK<lim> stored in the controller (10), a temperature TK of the coolant measured by the temperature sensor (22), and for operating the cooling device (16, 20) when TK >= TK<lim> for a time period delta t, and second means (27) are provided for evaluating a change of the temperature TK in time period delta t to see if an unallowable operating state exists. The invention further relates to a method for operating the condensation dryer.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a condensation dryer comprising a heat pump and capable of recognizing impermissible operating states, and to a preferred method of operation thereof. Background technique [0002] In condensation dryers, a fan sends air (so-called process air) via a heater into a drum that contains damp laundry and acts as a drying chamber. The hot air absorbs moisture from the laundry to be dried. After passing through the drum, the moist process air is taken into a heat exchanger, usually preceded by a lint filter. [0003] In a heat exchanger, eg an air-to-air heat exchanger or a heat sink of a heat pump, the moist process air is cooled so that the water contained in the moist process air is condensed out. The condensed water is then usually collected in a suitable container and the cooled and dried air is sent back to the heater (which can optionally be the heat source in a heat pump) and back into the drum. [0004] This drying operati...
