Salts include pharmaceutically acceptable salts, such as acid addition salts derived from inorganic or organic acids, such as hydrochloride, hydrobromide, p-toluenesulfonate, phosphate, sulfate, perchlorate, acetate, Tribromoacetate, propionate, citrate, malonate, succinate, lactate, oxalate, tartrate and benzoate.

Buspirone is useful in the treatment of a condition which is nausea, vomiting, retching or any combination thereof, in a human patient, when administered by a route which avoids first-pass metabolism.
