The invention provides a passive drive liquid crystal display device comprising a first base plate and a second base plate which are arranged oppositely, a liquid crystal layer located between the two base plates, a color filter coating located on the second base plate, a second transparent conducting layer located on the color filter coating and a first transparent conducting layer located on the first base plate, wherein both the first transparent conducting layer and the second transparent conducting layer are provided with at least one class of pattern electrodes opposite to each other.
