The method comprises the following steps: an interface message processor (IMP) receives the instant messages sent by a third party message customized server and carries out resolution, storage and task scheduling on the messages and pushes the messages to an electronic program guide (EPG) server; the EPG server carries out local cache on the messages, inquires timing messages of a receiving terminal set-top box (STB), registers the messages displayed by the receiving terminal STB and pushes the messages to the receiving terminal STB; the receiving terminal STB receives the instant messages sent down by the EPG server, updates local message lists and pushes the instant messages to a display terminal. The invention displays the instant messages by scrolling by means of OSD under play state and by JVM of STB and sends down page messages for interaction of users in real time.
