Problems solved by technology

If the number of users in the EPS increases rapidly, the processing capacity and network bandwidth of the S-GW will soon be overloaded. If the network allows new user data to pass through the S-GW at this time, it will likely cause The S-GW is paralyzed, and all services passing through the S-GW fail

Embodiment 1

[0053] According to an embodiment of the present invention, an overload notification method between network elements is provided, which is used for a Serving Gateway (S-GW) to notify a Mobility Management Entity (MME) of its own overload situation.

[0054] figure 2 It is a flowchart of an overload notification method between network elements according to an embodiment of the present invention, such as figure 2 As shown, the method includes the following steps:

[0055] Step S202, when the S-GW detects that it is overloaded, it sends an overload notification to the MME, wherein the overload notification carries the identity of the S-GW;

[0056] Step S204, in response to the overload notification, the MME adds the identity of the S-GW to the overloaded S-GW list, wherein the S-GW in the overloaded S-GW list will not be selected as the serving gateway of the user.

[0057] The technical solution of the present invention enables the MME to know the overload situation of the ...

Embodiment 2

[0072] Embodiment 2: The overload notification is realized by creating a dedicated bearer request message

[0073] Figure 5 It is a detailed processing flow chart of the overload notification method between network elements according to Embodiment 2 of the present invention, as shown in Figure 5 As shown, the method includes:

[0074] In step S502, the S-GW determines that it is overloaded, and decides to notify the MME that it will not accept new service requests.

[0075] In step S504, the S-GW sends a request message to create a dedicated bearer to the MME. The message includes an overload notification flag and an S-GW address, indicating that the S-GW has been overloaded and no longer accepts new services.

[0076] As mentioned above, the bearer migration indication may be included in the above-mentioned create dedicated bearer request message, and the bearer migration indication may carry a migration percentage information, indicating the size of the bearer that MME n...

Embodiment 3

[0081] Embodiment 3: The overload notification is realized by deleting the bearer request message

[0082] Figure 6is a detailed processing flowchart of an embodiment of an overload notification method between network elements according to Embodiment 3 of the present invention, as shown in Figure 6 As shown, the method includes:

[0083] In step S602, the S-GW determines that it is overloaded, and decides to notify the MME that it will not accept new service requests.

[0084] In step S604, the S-GW sends a delete bearer request message to the MME, which includes an overload notification flag and an S-GW address, indicating that the S-GW is overloaded and no longer accepts new services.

[0085] In addition, as mentioned above, the delete dedicated bearer request message may include a bearer migration indication, and the bearer migration indication may carry a migration percentage information, indicating the size of the bearer on the S-GW that the MME needs to migrate.

Abstract

The invention provides a method for notifying overload between element locations, which is utilized by service gateways for notifying self overload situation to a moving management body. The method comprises sending overload notification to the moving management body when the service gateways detect self overload, wherein the overload notification carries identifiers of the service gateways. In answer to the overload notification, the moving management body adds the identifiers of the service gateways into an overload service gateway list, wherein service gateways in the overload service gateway list will not be chosen as service gateways of users. Through utilizing the method for notifying overload between element locations of the invention, load of the service gateway is reduced, overload balance between the service gateways is realized, failure rate of business establishment is reduced, and users' experience is enhanced.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of communications, in particular to an overload notification method between network elements. Background technique [0002] The Evolved Packet System (EPS for short) system is a typical mobile communication system, such as figure 1 As shown, the entire EPS system is divided into two parts: a terrestrial radio access network system (Evolved UMTS, referred to as E-UTRAN) and a core network (Evovled Packet Core, referred to as EPC). [0003] The EPC includes a Home Subscriber Server (HSS for short), a Mobility Management Entity (MME for short), a Serving Gateway (S-GW for short), and a packet data network gateway. (Packet Data Network Gateway, referred to as PDN-GW or P-GW), where: [0004] HSS is the permanent storage location of user subscription data, located in the home network of user subscription; [0005] MME is the control plane network element in the EPS network. It is the storage location o...
