Electrically locked motor vehicle door lock

Motor vehicle door lock comprising: a latch (1); a pawl (3) which can adopt an "escapement" position; an operating member which, on the one hand, can adopt either an active position in which it acts, during its actuating movement, on the pawl to place it in the "escapement" position, or an inhibited position in which it has no effect on the pawl and, on the other hand, may experience an actuating movement in response to actuation of the door handle; and an electric device (15-24) which responds at least to an unlock signal by moving the operating member from its inhibited position as far as its active position, characterized in that the operating member consists of a set of two links (7, 11) articulated together by a hinge joint (10), of which one (11) of the links comprises a thrust surface (11a) which is positioned in such a way that, in the active position, the thrust surface comes up against and carries along a peg (25) on the pawl (3), during the actuating movement, until the said pawl has been placed in the "escapement" position, and that in the inhibited position, the thrust surface at most comes into contact with the said peg, during the actuating movement so that the operating member has no action on the pawl, and of which the other link (7) is articulated to an opening lever (5), the electric device comprising a lock / unlock lever (15) co-operating with the hinge joint (10) to make it pivot about the articulation (8).

Door latch with emergency lock actuator and 'impatient passenger' feature

In one aspect, the invention is directed to a closure latch for a vehicle door. The closure latch includes an emergency lock actuator to permit a person to lock the door in the event that the power lock actuator is unusable. The latch also includes an ‘impatient passenger’ feature, which permits the doors to be unlocked using the remote keyless-entry feature on the key fob even in a situation where an ‘impatient passenger’ had prematurely lifted the door handle of the vehicle. In some prior art latches, such an action by an ‘impatient passenger’ would prevent the drive motor on the latch from unlocking the latch, thereby necessitating the owner to press the unlock button on the key fob a second time. There is some overlap in the components that used for the ‘impatient passenger’ feature and the components used for the emergency lock actuator, thereby reducing cost and complexity of the latch.

Door lock system

A door lock system includes a first link lever, a second link lever, and a spring. The first link lever moves to a transmitting position in response to an unlocking operation. The second link lever includes a ratchet driver that is formed integrally with a bushing. The ratchet driver is rotatable between a first rotational position and a second rotational position on the first link lever. In response to a door-opening operation, when the ratchet driver is in the first rotational position and the first link lever is in the transmitting position, the second link lever allows a ratchet lever to disengage a ratchet from a latch. The spring maintains the second link lever in the first rotational position when the first link lever moves to the transmitting position.

Vehicle door latch apparatus

An vehicle door latch apparatus includes an engaging mechanism unit and an operating mechanism unit. The operating mechanism unit includes a motor; a worm wheel being rotated by the motor; a sector gear meshing with a pinion provided on one side of the worm wheel and rotating to an unlocking position and a locking position; switch levers connected to the sector gear and shifting to an unlocking position where engagement with a meshing mechanism is releasable and a locking position where the engagement cannot be released; and a key sub-lever pivotally supported on the same pivot on which the sector gear pivots. The key sub-lever is rotatable from a neutral position in an unlocking direction and a locking direction in synchronism with operation of a key cylinder so as to rotate the sector gear to the unlocking position by rotating in the unlocking direction and to rotate the sector gear in the locking direction by rotating in the locking direction. The operating space for operating the key sub-lever can be encapsulated in the operating space for operating the sector gear, thus, it is able to reduce the front projection area and the size of the operating mechanism unit.

Door locking device for vehicle

[Problem] To provide a door locking device for a vehicle, wherein it is possible to reduce production costs while preventing the door from opening unintentionally when the vehicle is in a collision and while eliminating having to redo an unlocking operation when the unlocking operation and a door opening operation overlap. [Solution] A door locking device (1) for a vehicle, wherein: a third lever (50) is capable of being displaced to a third position and a fourth position, the third position being a position in which a second lever (30) capable of swinging from a first position to a second position as a consequence of an inertial force (F1) surpassing a set value and acting on the second lever (30) is allowed to be at the first position and the second position, and the fourth position being a position in which the second lever (30) is held at the second position; and a fork (11) can be switched to an unlatch state when the third lever (50) is at the third position, while the fork (11) cannot be switched to the unlatch state when the third lever (50) is at the fourth position. When a first lever (13) attempts to swing while the second lever (30) is at the second position, a holding means (60) allows the first lever (13) to swing while holding the second lever (30) at the second position regardless of the position of the third lever (50).

Door latch with fast unlock

A closure latch assembly for a vehicle door comprising a lock link operatively connected to a ratchet is provided. The latch assembly is configured to quickly move the lock link to an unlocking position and thus the ratchet to an open position when a user activates a motor of the latch assembly, for example using a key fob. Thus, an impatient passenger can quickly open the door, even while other components of the latch assembly are still moving toward their respective unlocking positions.

Double action mechanism of vehicle door latch device

A door latch device has a hook lever 50 for switching a lock lever 36 residing at a locked position L to an unlocked position U when an inner open lever 29 is rotated, and a pressing spring 45 for coupling the lock lever 36 and an open link 41. When the lock lever 36 is switched to the unlocked position U from the locked position L while an outer open lever 28 is in an actuated position Y, although the open link 41 is not displaced to an engaging position, the pressing spring 45 is compressed. The open link 41 is pushed out to the engaging position by elasticity of the pressing spring 45 when the outer open lever 28 is returned to a stand-by position X while the pressing spring 45 is compressed.
