Benefits of technology

The invention provides a glove with a palm pocket that can hold a tool or fishing rod, reducing physical stress on the wearer's hand. The pocket is reinforced for durability.

Problems solved by technology

A worker often comes home after a hard day at work with sore hands because he worked in a construction or industrial environment without wearing gloves or because the gloves he wore were not reinforced or suitable to ease the burden on the worker's hands.
Further, a carpenter may find that swinging a hammer all day causes palm discomfort or even blisters.
Similarly, a person who fishes frequently may find holding the handle of a fishing rod eventually chafes the palm of his hand.
Still further, a user finds it tedious and tiring simply to securely hold a tool or fishing rod in the palm of his hand for long periods of time.
In addition, a worker often finds it difficult to carry small items that are needed to do a job, such as nuts, bolts, screws, finishing nails, and the like.
Various gloves have been proposed in the art that provide reinforced layers of material intended to prevent physical harm to the fingertips, knuckles, pads of the palms of a hand, or other parts of a hand, Although presumably effective for their intended purposes, the existing devices still lack the relief and convenience of a glove having a palm pocket capable of securing the handle of a tool or fishing rod and to provide a means for securing small items like screws and the like.

Embodiment Construction

[0021]A glove with a palm pocket according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention will now be described in detail with reference to FIGS. 1 to 9 of the present invention. The glove 10 includes a body member 11 and a palm pocket member 40.

[0022]The glove 10 includes a body member 11 that includes several portions that may be integrally constructed together, i.e. seamlessly. For instance, the body member 11 may include a palm-side portion 12 (also referred as a palmar portion) and a dorsal side portion 14 (i.e. the back or knuckle side) that may be integrally constructed or coupled together to define an interior area (such as to receive a user's hand therein). Further, the glove 10 may include a thumb portion 16 and four finger portions 18 arranged to be complementary to and configured to receive a human hand. It is understood that the thumb portion 16 and finger portions 18 may have generally tubular configurations having terminal ends that are open and inner ends in comm...

Abstract

A glove with a palm pocket includes a body member having a palm-side portion and a dorsal side portion connected to the palm side portion that, together, define an interior area. The body member includes a thumb portion and four finger portions adjacent one another and extending outwardly, the thumb portion and the four finger portions having tubular configurations in communication with the interior area and defining terminal ends that are open, respectively. The glove includes a palm pocket member coupled to an exterior surface of the palm-side portion, the palm pocket member including a front panel having a first side edge and a second side edge opposite the first side edge. The palm pocket member includes a proximal end edge adjacent the thumb portion that is open such that the palm pocket member defines an interior pocket configured to receive an article.
