[0025] The invention described herein is a method for assessing therapeutic effects against neurological and psychological disorders by assessing changes in neural activity manifested in EEG. A particular embodiment of the present invention involves a system for evaluating neurostimulators 60 connected to a patient 10 via stimulating electrodes ( figure 1 ) provides the electrical stimulation effect. The system includes a data acquisition unit (DAU) 20 for acquiring patient EEG signals for subsequent processing. DAU 20 typically includes a computer system with an analog-to-digital (A-D) converter 25 and a series of electrodes 15 that can be placed on the patient's 10 scalp.
