The method comprises the following steps: selecting ewes capable of being bred; embedding a progesterone suppository in vaginas of the ewes capable of breeding, and recording the embedding day as the 0th day; carrying out intramuscular injection of cloprostenol sodium on the fourth day; withdrawing the progesterone suppository on the fifth day, and injecting PMSG intramuscularly at the same time; and 12-72 hours after the progesterone suppository is withdrawn, performing estrus test by using rams, and selecting estrus ewes. According to the method, ewes can be bred to have an estrus within 5 days, the embedding time is greatly shortened compared with the previous method that the progesterone suppository needs to be embedded for more than 10 days, the estrus rate is increased, and meanwhile, the suppository falling rate and the vaginitis of the ewes are effectively reduced.
