[0077] In the following description, reference is made to the accompanying drawings which form a part hereof, and in which is shown by way of illustration specific aspects in which the invention may be situated. It is to be understood that other aspects may be utilized and structural or logical changes may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. Therefore, the following detailed description should not be read in a limiting sense, since the scope of the invention is defined in the appended claims.

[0078] For example, it should be understood that a disclosure related to a described method may also apply to a corresponding device or system configured to perform the method, and vice versa. For example, if certain method steps are described, a corresponding apparatus may include means for performing said method steps, even if such means are not explicitly described or illustrated in the figures. On the other hand, for example, if a specific device is d...

Abstract

Devices, methods and computer programs for adaptively selective retransmissions in wireless communications are disclosed. The invention allows enhancing short packet data retransmission performance under short delay constraints. Using a retransmission indication for at least one segment of consecutive FEC encoded bits reduces feedback signaling overhead compared to signaling retransmission requests individually for each of the coded bits. Accordingly, active HARQ transmissions with low amounts of feedback information are enabled.

Description

technical field [0001] The present disclosure relates to the field of wireless communications, and more particularly to receiving and transmitting network devices and related methods and computer programs for wireless communications. Background technique [0002] Fifth generation (5G) or so-called new radio (NR) wireless networks allow the provision of new wireless communication services at higher data rates and at the same time for relatively short packets under predefined delay constraints Provides increased reliability, which is also known as ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC). [0003] URLLC reliability requirements for NR include user plane latency targets that should be 0.5 milliseconds (ms) for uplink (UL) and 0.5 ms for downlink (DL). The general URLLC reliability requirement for a packet-at-a-time transfer is 1-10 for 32 bytes with a user plane latency of 1 ms -5 . Set a reliability target for the initial transmission of small data packets of 32 byt...
