The invention discloses a method and system for determining the usage rate of a 10-gigabit card in a storage device, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining the total number of messages of the 10-gigabit card in a set time period and the size of each message, and calculating the average bandwidth and the average IOPS in the set time period through employing a formula according to the size ofeach message and the total number of messages; calculating a bandwidth occupancy rate according to the average bandwidth and the maximum bandwidth, determining an IOPS occupancy rate according to thesize of each message, the maximum IOPS of any message and the small block data IOPS, and finally selecting the larger one of the bandwidth occupancy rate and the IOPS occupancy rate to be defined asthe usage rate of the current 10-gigabit card. The system comprises a message total number and message size acquisition module, an average bandwidth calculation module, an average IOPS calculation module, a bandwidth occupancy rate calculation module, an IOPS occupancy rate calculation module and a 10-gigabit card utilization rate determination module.
