Abstract

The invention provides a method and equipment for improving timeout of a link aggregation protocol. The method comprises the following steps: setting timeout time and timeout threshold times of receiving an LACPDU packet by a switch; in response to the fact that the first switch receives the LACPDU packet from the second switch for timeout, counting timeout times; judging whether the second switchport is abnormal or not through the network control center in response to the situation that the timeout frequency is greater than the threshold frequency and the switch aggregation link is in an out-of-band management mode; in response to the second switch port exception, the second switch exception port is removed from the aggregated link. By using the scheme of the invention, the problem thatthe stability of in-band management is possibly influenced by the in-band data flow can be avoided, the stability of the aggregation link can be further improved, and the forward compatible elasticityis reserved.
