Embodiment Construction

[0029] The examples described below are preferred embodiments of the present invention. In these examples, the described parts of the embodiment each represent individual features of the invention which can be considered independently of one another, which also improve the invention independently of one another, and thus also differ individually or in combinations other than those shown. Combinations are considered to be part of the present invention. Furthermore, the described embodiments can also be supplemented by other features of the invention that have already been described.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for detecting and determining a failure probability (pA) of a radio network (4). The method is characterized in that operating parameters (2) are cyclically transmitted to a central computer (1) by devices (3) of the radio network (4), wherein each transmitted operating parameter (2) comprises an operating value (5) of the respective device (3) and a detection time (t) of the operating value. All transmitted parameters and values can be viewed at any time via an access to the central computer (1). The central computer (1) cyclically saves the operating values(5) of all operating parameters (2) detected within a respective specified time interval (T) as a respective operating constellation (8) and examines the radio network (4) for the presence of a failure (A). The central computer (1) cyclically creates a model (12), which allocates a failure probability (pA) to every possible operating constellation (8), on the basis of the saved operating constellations (8) and failures (A).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method for detecting and determining a failure probability of a radio network and a central computer arranged to carry out the method. In particular, WLAN networks (WLAN—Wireless Local Area Network) are involved. Background technique [0002] Large-scale radio network infrastructures include multiple access points and are provisioned for a large number of end devices, requiring special design and monitoring for their reliability. Overloading or design errors in the network infrastructure can lead to functional limitations or complete failure of the radio network. Especially in industrial plants, the components of which communicate via radio networks, the failure of which leads to an interruption of the production process, which can lead to high economic losses. [0003] In order to be able to ensure the reliability of radio networks, methods and devices have been developed which optimize the planning and control of the radi...
