Embodiment Construction

[0074] overview

[0075]Referring generally to the drawings, there is shown a building management system (BMS) having a declarative view of time-series data in accordance with various embodiments. The BMS is configured to collect data samples from building equipment (eg, sensors, controllable devices, building subsystems, etc.) and generate raw time-series data from the data samples. The BMS can process the raw time series data using various data platform services to generate derived time series data (eg, data rollup time series, virtual point time series, fault detection time series, etc.). The derived time series data can be provided to various applications and / or stored in local or hosted storage. In some embodiments, the BMS includes three distinct layers that separate (1) data acquisition, (2) data storage, retrieval and analysis, and (3) data visualization. This allows the BMS to support various applications that use the exported time series data, and allows new applic...

Abstract

A building management system (BMS) includes building equipment configured to provide raw data samples of one or more data points in the BMS. The BMS further includes a data collector configured to collect raw data samples from the building equipment and generate one or more raw data time series comprising a plurality of the raw data samples. The BMS also includes a time series processing engine. The time series processing engine is configured to identify one or more time series processing workflows that apply to the raw data time series, each of the workflows comprising a predefined sequence of time series processing operation. The time series processing engine is further configured to process the raw data time series using the identified time series processing workflows to generate one ormore derived data time series. The BMS further includes a time series storage interface configured to store the raw data time series and the derived data time series in a time series database.
