Abstract

The embodiment of the invention discloses an error correction method and an error correction device, which are used for reducing the bit error rate of an FFE and improving the equalization performance. The method comprises the steps of obtaining an output signal and an amplitude value of a forward equalizer FFE, wherein the amplitude value is a channel response amplitude value corresponding to anequivalent channel of the FFE; carrying out level judgment on the output signal according to the amplitude value to obtain a first judgment signal, wherein the first judgment signal comprises (2M-1) judgment symbols, and M is an integer not smaller than 2; carrying out (1/(1+D)) decoding on the first decision signal to obtain a first decoded signal, determining the first decoded signal as a seconddecision signal, wherein the second decision signal comprises (M-1) decision symbols; if the absolute value of the second decision signal is greater than (M-1), determining that a burst error occursin the second decision signal; and performing error correction on a burst error in the second decision signal.
