Problems solved by technology

The implementation complexity of analog beamforming is significantly less than that of digital precoding, as it is in many implementations and relies on simple phase shifters, but the disadvantage is its limitation in multidirectional flexibility (i.e., a single beam can be formed at a time, and then switching beams in the time domain), broadband-only transmission (i.e., no possibility of sending on subbands), inevitable inaccuracies in the analog domain, etc.
The digital beamforming used in LTE today (which requires expensive converters between the digital and IF domains) offers the best performance in terms of data rate and multiplexing capability (multiple beams can be formed on multiple subbands at a time), but Also challenging in terms of power consumption, integration, and cost; in addition, gain does not scale linearly with the number of transmit / receive elements, while cost grows rapidly

Abstract

A method in a first radio node for performing measurements in a communication network is provided. The method comprises: performing a first amount of measurements on a first signal based on a first numerology; and performing a second amount of measurements on a second signal based on a second numerology; wherein performing the first and second amounts of measurements is based on a relation betweenthe first and second amounts of measurements. The first radio node for carrying this method is also provided. The first radio node could be a wireless device, for example.

Description

[0001] related application [0002] This application claims Application No. 1, entitled "Methods and RadioNodes for Controlling Measurement Capability with Multiple Numerologies," filed in the United States Patent and Trademark Office on November 3, 2016. Priority to US Provisional Patent Application No. 62 / 416,932, the contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference. technical field [0003] The present disclosure relates to a method and a radio node for controlling measurement capabilities and performing measurements using multiple parameter sets in a radio communication network. Background technique [0004] NR architecture [0005] New radio (NR), also known as 5th generation (5G) or next generation, architectures are being discussed in the 3rd Generation Partnership (3GPP) standards body. exist figure 1 The current NR concept is shown in , where eNB stands for Long Term Evolution (LTE) eNodeB, gNB stands for NR Base Station (BS) (one NR BS can correspond to on...
