Abstract

The invention discloses a broadband millimeter wave channel estimation method under low-precision hybrid architecture. For a full spectrum band, an analog precoder and an analog combiner are optimallydesigned, and for sub-carriers, a digital combiner is optimally designed for broadband channel estimation. Firstly, an isotropic analog transceiver is designed, the analog transceiver adopts a fullyconnected phase shifter network, and the phases of the phase shifters are evenly distributed; and then, a digital combiner with frequency selectivity is optimally designed to obtain an optimal channelestimation result. In view of a millimeter wave channel with multipath sparseness, before the optimized design of the digital combiner, an element position corresponding to a channel principal component can be found by the method by using orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP), thus further reducing the complexity of channel estimation. The broadband channel estimator provided by the invention is applicable to a general channel model. In a hybrid architecture multi-antenna system using a low-precision analog-to-digital converter, the estimation accuracy of the broadband millimeter wave channel estimation method provided by the invention for any channel is greatly improved compared with the conventional method.
