Problems solved by technology

At present, there are mainly three types of mode-locked fiber lasers with mode-locking mechanisms: the first type, mode-locked fiber lasers based on nonlinear fiber loop mirrors / non-linear magnifying loop mirrors, which generally have essential defects such as high mode-locking threshold and polarization sensitivity; The second type, the equivalent saturable absorber based on the nonlinear effect of the fiber, the nonlinear polarization rotation mode-locked fiber laser, has the advantages of short recovery time and high damage threshold, but it is difficult to use a polarizer or a fiber polarization isolator because of the need to use a polarizer or a fiber polarization isolator. Generation of vector pulses; the third type of mode-locked fiber laser based on a real saturable absorber. When the light pulse passes through the saturable absorber, the front and rear edges of the pulse will experience greater loss than the middle part, thereby achieving pulse narrowing
Because such lasers often do not contain polarization-dependent components, they are widely used in the study of vector pulses, but due to the mode-locking mechanism of the materials used, there are certain limitations in the study of pulse dynamics

Abstract

The invention discloses a fiber laser light source capable of achieving bidirectional output of a vector pulse and a scalar pulse. A mode-locked laser light source comprises a mode locking unit, a population inversion unit, a first circulator, a second circulator, a polarization-maintaining fiber and an output unit, wherein the mode-locked laser light source is provided with a clockwise resonant cavity and a counterclockwise resonant cavity; the counterclockwise resonant cavity achieves mode locking of a fiber laser by using the selective permeability of a polarizer on light of different polarization directions in the resonant cavities of the laser and completes output of an ordinary laser pulse; and the clockwise resonant cavity introduces the birefringence effect into the laser by usingthe polarization-maintaining fiber, thereby achieving output of the vector pulse of the laser. Compared with the prior art, the fiber laser light source has the advantages that a system has output capability in two direction dimensions, output of two different types of laser light can be achieved at the same time, and the fiber laser light source is a multi-dimensional diversified composite ultrafast laser light source.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an ultrafast laser technology, and more specifically, relates to a fiber laser light source with two-way output of vector scalar pulses. Background technique [0002] Erbium-doped mode-locked fiber lasers have been intensively studied due to their important applications in optical communications, material processing, optical frequency combs, biomedicine, and nonlinear optics. Compared with other lasers, fiber lasers have many advantages such as high gain coefficient, wide operating wavelength range, good heat dissipation, and no need for alignment adjustments. In addition, it also provides a good experimental platform for studying the evolution of nonlinear light waves in light. [0003] Vector pulses have been extensively studied in recent years due to their more complex and richer dynamics than scalar pulses. Vector pulses consist of two orthogonally polarized pulse components that are phase-locked or group-velocity...
