AI Technical Summary

Benefits of technology

This patented technology allows scientists to study how waves change over time due to factors like temperature or weather conditions. It provides technical benefits that are easy to use with different types of sea water samples collected from coastal areas around Japan during their construction phase.

Problems solved by technology

This patents describes different methods or techniques needed to accurately predict wavelength variations over longer periods of sea dynamics from large amounts of observed data collected through various types of sensors such as sonar measurements and geomasts. These sources require reliable and consistently accurate measurement results while also being cost-effective and efficient compared to current approaches like computer simulations.

Abstract

The invention relates to a reanalyzing method of wave long-term data. The method comprises the following steps of constructing wave element (significant wave height and average period) long-term observation data based on a satellite altimeter and wave element long-term simulation hindcasting data based on a wave numerical mode, and conducting space-time registering on the wave element long-term observation data and the wave element long-term simulation hindcasting data; using space-time synchronizing data to analyze and correct the wave element long-term simulation hindcasting data to obtain reanalyzed data of wave elements. Compared with common data assimilation methods, the disclosed new reanalyzing method applied to the wave element long-term simulation hindcasting data is high in the processing efficiency, flexible inintegrated observation data, and is particularly applicable to processing the wave element long-term hindcasting simulation data, and strong support can be provided for study and analysis of the climatic variability and the interannual variation of the wave element and the oceanographic engineering environment.
