Abstract

The method comprisesthe following steps: firstly, requiring a mirror image service component to provide a mirror image uploading API on the shared memory, wherein the API request parameter contains the metadata information of a mirror image source; then calling the mirror image uploading API to perform data persistence on the metadata information of the mirror image source; sending the id of a mirror image, the sizeof the mirror image and path parameters of the mirror image source to mirror image uploading service where a host of the mirror image source is located; and finally creating an original file of the mirror image by the mirror image uploading service according to the id and the size of the mirror image, then converting a magnetic disk file of the mirror image source onto the original file of the mirror image, and accomplishing the mirror image template uploading after the conversion is accomplished. By adoption of the virtual machine mirror image template uploading method, the network transmission time of mirror image uploading on the shared memory is shortened; and the virtual machine mirror image template uploading method can be used on virtual machine mirror images.
