The method and device are used for a control system of the engineering equipment, and the method specifically comprises the steps: reminding a user of recharging information when the engineering time duration prestored in the engineering equipment is less than a first preset time duration threshold value; limiting the functions of the engineering equipment at the same time; responding a recharging request of the user, and receiving the recharging data inputted by the user; and carrying out thelimiting of the functions of the engineering equipment according to the recharging data, wherein the recharging data is obtained by the user from a retailer according to the recharging information, thereby enabling the retailer to carry out the effective control of the engineering equipment which does not complete the payment till all the payment is completed, and preventing the user from transferring or hiding and illegally using the equipment under the condition that the full ownership is not obtained.
