Abstract

The invention provides a niche complementation-based method for interplanting traditional Chinese medicines-magnolia officinalis and polygonatum kingianum in combination with soil and weather characteristics in southern districts by use of two different traditional Chinese medicines at an extremely low niche overlapping value according to a niche principle. The niche complementation-based method comprises the following steps: (1) selection and finishing of a land; (2) application of basic fertilizer; (3) selection of seedlings; (4) planting; (5) topdressing; (6) field management; (7) utilization of fallen leaves of the magnolia officinalis. According to the method for interplanting the polygonatum kingianum under a magnolia officinalis forest, the polygonatum kingianum is interplanted below the magnolia officinalis according to different planting times and a standard planting specification, so that the utilization rates of the land, light energy, water, fertilizer and the like are effectively increased, the production cost is reduced, the quality of traditional Chinese medicines is improved, and the yield of a unit land is increased.
