The invention provides the detection method and apparatus of communication performance of the vehicle-mounted terminal, overcoming the defect in the existing communication procedure. The method comprises the steps of receiving a registration instruction sent out by a vehicle-mounted terminal and sending out a reply instruction; receiving an authentication instruction sent out by the vehicle-mounted terminal and sending out a reply instruction; detecting authentication success times; reading configuration parameters of the vehicle-mounted terminal; and detecting a time difference between a current time and a preset time, if the time difference exceeds 24 hours, sending out a sell credit instruction for enabling the vehicle-mounted terminal to register and authenticate again a certain time later; storing all generated instructions in a log; and analyzing the log so as to determine whether recording time of the instructions in the log is continuous, so as to determine the correctness of the communication data of the vehicle-mounted terminal.
