Problems solved by technology

[0004] In the field of non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation, the European Union has approved percutaneous ear vagus nerve stimulation for the treatment of epilepsy, but the existing literature reports that after 24 weeks of percutaneous ear vagus nerve stimulation in patients with refractory epilepsy, the number of seizures is reduced by less than 50%. That is, the 50% response rate is zero, obviously it cannot meet the requirements of producing similar effects to vagus nerve stimulation
There are no reports of clinical trials of this technology

Abstract

The invention discloses a magnetic stimulation device of vagus nerve. The magnetic stimulation device of vagus nerve comprises a stimulation coil (101), a first respiration frequency detection electrode (102a), a second respiration frequency detection electrode (102b), a first electrocardiogram detection electrode (103a), a second electrocardiogram detection electrode (103b), a third electrocardiogram detection electrode (103c), a stimulation pulse generator (104), a respiration frequency monitoring module (105), an electrocardiogram monitoring module (106), a control module (107) and a display module (108). The stimulation coil (101) is pasted on the surface of the neck skin of a patient; an induced electric field is generated on the vagus nerve by using an external pulse magnetic field, so that the vagus nerve is simulated to be excited; the respiration frequency monitoring module (105) and the electrocardiogram monitoring module (106) are capable of monitoring respiration frequency and heart rate of the patient (109) in real time and automatically stopping simulating when the patient (109) has abnormal heartbeat and respiration.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a medical device for suppressing epilepsy, in particular to a non-invasive vagus nerve magnetic stimulation device. Background technique [0002] Epilepsy is commonly known as "horn wind" or "epilepsy". When it occurs, the brain neurons suddenly discharge abnormally, resulting in short-term brain dysfunction. It is a common, recurrent chronic function that seriously threatens human physical and mental health. A neurological disorder characterized by recurrent convulsions, associated with cognitive and neuropsychological impairment and reduced quality of life. There are about 10 million epilepsy patients in my country, about 30% of whom are refractory epilepsy patients who cannot be suppressed by drugs or surgery. Vagus nerve stimulation is a new approach in the treatment of drug-refractory epilepsy. At present, the mechanism of vagus nerve stimulation in the treatment of epilepsy is still inconclusive. It may be that vagus ne...
