Problems solved by technology

When a fluoroalkyl group exists on the outermost surface of the optical fiber, the adhesiveness decreases, and the formability and polishing accuracy of the optical fiber end face deteriorate.
Therefore, light transmission cannot be performed sufficiently, and as a result, there is a problem that satisfactory observation performance cannot be achieved.

Embodiment

[0039] The optical transmission body of the embodiment was manufactured, and the durability and the state of polishing were evaluated.

[0040]

[0041] Add 0.01% to 20% of alkylsilane (general formula CH 3 (CH 2 ) m Si(OR) n (R') 3-n ) and 0-20% of the dispersant are dissolved in water to prepare a treatment liquid. However, the total of the alkylsilane and the dispersant is 30% or less. In addition, the concrete compound name of an alkylsilane and a dispersing agent is as described in Table 1 mentioned later. As a dispersant, an organic solvent or a surfactant is used. Thus, 14 kinds of treatment liquids (Examples 1 to 14) were obtained.

[0042] In addition, as a comparison, a treatment liquid in which an organosilicon compound containing a fluorine-substituted alkyl group was used instead of an alkylsilane at 0.01% to 10% was produced (comparative example 1).

Abstract

Provided is a light transmission body which has a good balance among excellent durability, wear resistance, lubricity and excellent adhesiveness. A light transmission body according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises a fiber strand and a covering layer. The fiber strand is configured of: a core that is formed of glass; and a cladding that covers the outer circumferential surface of the core and is formed of glass. The covering layer is composed of a plurality of alkyl groups which cover the outer circumferential surface of the cladding and are not substituted by fluorine, and each alkyl group is bonded to the cladding via a siloxane bond.

Description

technical field [0001] Embodiments of the present invention relate to an optical transmission body, an image guide or a light guide including two or more optical transmission bodies, and an endoscope including at least one of the image guide and the light guide. Background technique [0002] In conventional endoscopes, in order to ensure brightness during observation, leaded optical fibers made of glass are passed through the insertion portion of the endoscope. Leaded optical fiber is used to transmit the illumination light from the light source to the front end. [0003] Leaded optical fiber has excellent transmittance and light distribution characteristics. However, due to stricter regulations on harmful substances such as lead, development of lead-free optical fibers has been carried out. However, lead-free optical fibers are physically harder and less flexible than lead-containing optical fibers. Therefore, when the distal end portion of the endoscope is repeatedly an...
