Abstract

The invention discloses a method and apparatus for triggering an external diaphragm pacemaker by using a surface electromyogram signal as a synchronization signal. The method comprises the steps of 1) acquiring surface an electromyogram signal of inspiratory muscles; 2) conducting envelope calculation, using a root mean square algorithm for implementation, and using an envelope value greater than a threshold for indicating muscle contraction, the threshold being determined based on a mean value of envelope values in a certain period; and 3) generating a synchronization signal which can be used for triggering the signal output of an external diaphragm pacemaker. The invention improves the control accuracy by the above means, and triggers the external diaphragm pacemaker by using the surface electromyogram signal as the synchronization signal in a more stable way.
