According to the method and the device, in the process of acquiring the echo reference signal, the echo time delay of the echo reference signal at the present frame is determined by utilizing the peak values of the cross-correlation functions of the echo reference signal and the sound input signal at the present frame, so echo time delay of the echo reference signal at each frame is tracked, and bases are provided for eliminating time delay jittering and improving long-term stability of the echo elimination performance.
