The calculation method comprises the following steps: modeling a pretested onboard power system to obtain a corresponding characteristic circuit; according to the characteristic circuit, listing a non-linear expression; according to a small signal stability analysis method, linearizing the nonlinear expression by surrounding a predetermined steady-state operation point to obtain a spatial state matrix; and according to the characteristic root analysis method, judging the stability of the predetermined steady-state operation point. By adopting the power system stability calculation method, the stability of a fixed power system structure can be high efficiently analyzed, and the stability of the power system after the inductance and capacitance parameters are changed or the load power is changed can be monitored in real time.
