Abstract

The invention relates to a method by means of which tire modules can be associated with tire positions on a vehicle, comprising the following steps: a) inputting vehicle data and vehicle tire information by means of a mobile detecting device (13), b) analyzing the input information by means of the mobile detecting device (13), c) providing an instruction to the user of the mobile detecting device (13), wherein the instruction indicates to the user the first vehicle tire (1) for performing a first tire module identification, d) positioning the mobile detecting device (13) near the first vehicle tire (1), which is specified by the detecting device (13), e) activating an inquiry signal having a transmission frequency specified by the detecting device (13) and a specified signal amplitude to a tire module (16) arranged in the vehicle tire (13), wherein the tire module (16) comprises at least one sensor for tire-pressure monitoring, f) capturing a response signal from the tire module (16), wherein the response signal comprises at least the identification data of the tire module (16), g) evaluating the response signal of the tire module (16) and associating the identified tire module (16) with a tire position on the vehicle.
