Abstract

The invention discloses a method for preparing calcium sulfate whiskers. The method comprises the following procedures: with limestone as the raw material, grinding, leaching, size mixing, heating, crystallizing, nature determining by the hydrothermal method, steam-pressing, drying and the like. The produced calcium sulfate whiskers have the whitenness, the purity and the content of larger than or equal to 98% and the length-diameter ratio of 50-200. 200-350 kg of anhydrous calcium sulfate whiskers can be produced by each cubic meter of a dihydrate gypsum suspension. The produced whiskers are silky luster and can be used in the aspects of papermaking, coatings, rubber, plastics and the like. As limestone is adopted as the raw material to produce the anhydrous calcium sulfate whiskers, not only is the problem of natural gypsum exhaustion solved, but also optimal resource utilization is realized.
