[0016] The present invention proposes to detect arrhythmic events through the use of photoplethysmography (PPG) signals together with respiratory and pulse signals, which are determined from accelerometers. These events can be detected with high confidence by accelerometer-based cross-correlation of the respiration and pulse signals with the PPG signal.
