[0279] In the second embodiment, refer to Figures 2 to 5 , a base node is a separate physical processing device called a base unit (B), including persistent storage, memory, processing engines, wireless access points (4), plug-and-play interfaces such as USB ports (11), graphics Display output adapter (5) (such as VGA / DP / DVI / HDMI) and optional audio output adapter (27). An input device with detents such as buttons 13 and visual indicators 14 is optional.

[0280] The connection unit is a physical device in the form of an external peripheral device (shown as a "dongle" D in the various figures), comprising permanent storage, memory, processing engine (e.g. , CPU, FPGA), wireless transmitters such as WiFi (3) or other wireless transmitters such as LiFi, plug-and-play interfaces such as USB interfaces (2), buttons as input devices (9), as visual indicators (10) LED rings. Portable applications are stored on the peripheral device (7).

[0301] Third embodiment: Portable application stored on a standard solid state memory such as a USB stick.

[0302] In this third embodiment, the portable application is stored on a device such as a conventional USB memory stick ( Figure 7 ) and other solid-state memory.

[0303] With solid state memory such as a conventional USB memory stick, there are no various input devices, visual indicators or transmitters for connecting units as described above. This means that the system needs to:

[0304] - Using a transmitter / receiver from a client processing device.

[0305] - Use of keys or buttons on the client processing device as input devices, such as physical keys on a keyboard, special mouse presses, button areas on a touch screen, buttons displayed on the screen that are clicked with a mouse pointer.

[0306] - Presenting a visual indicator on a display of a client processing device.

[0307] The client processing device then looks like Figure 8 .

[0334] Fourth embodiment: Only the software client is installed on the client processing device.

[0335] This embodiment is similar to the third embodiment, the only difference being that the software is copied onto the Client Operating Device ( Figure 9 ). In this case, there is no need for a plug-and-play port such as a USB port on the client operating device.

[0336] This embodiment will typically be used for tablet PCs and mobile devices. under these circumstances

[0337] - Frequently non-existent usb ports

[0338] - App distribution is easy and widely accepted through app stores

Abstract

Electronic conferencing tools and methods for delivering arbitrary media content from users at a meeting are described. The means may include node configuration means adapted to operate a display node of the communications network, the display node being coupled to the first display. The node configuration means is adapted to receive any media content selected by the user and to control the display of any media content selected by the user on the first display. At least one peripheral device adapted to deliver arbitrary media content selected by a user via a communication network is provided, wherein the peripheral device is a connection unit comprising: (e) a port adapted to be coupled to a processing device having a second display, a memory, and an operating system and (f) a transmitter for communicating with a communication network, providing a program adapted to be loaded onto the processing device and run on the operating system of the processing device, the program being adapted to obtain user Any media content of choice, said program being terminated without leaving a trace. An input device is provided that allows a user to perform a user action that triggers transmission of any media content selected by said user to said transmitter through said port.

Description

[0001] The present invention relates to electronic tools for conferencing, including a method or device for providing a connection to a communication network to a network or a method of operating a network, a method or device for displaying media content and a method or device for performing any of these methods kinds of software. technical background [0002] Tools for Collaboration [0003] Allowing self-organizing groups of people to communicate with each other is one of the fundamental aspects of collaboration, problem solving, negotiation, teaching, and education. To aid communication, a plethora of electronic communication tools already exist such as electronic conferencing tools, for example, synchronous and asynchronous conferencing, live chat, instant messaging, audio conferencing, video conferencing, data conferencing, application sharing, remote desktop sharing, electronic conferencing systems, collaboration management (coordination) tools, project management syste...
