Abstract

The invention discloses an RAID1 and RAID4 hybrid structure network storage system and method. The system comprises a plurality of redundancy groups which are logically independent. Each redundancy group is of an RAID1 and RAID4 hybrid structure and comprises a plurality of data nodes and one check node. The data nodes are used for catching write operation data blocks. The write operation data blocks are sent to the check nodes in an RAID1 mode to form an RAID1 mirror image. The check nodes are used for catching the write operation data blocks and forming an RAID4 redundancy strip with data blocks, with the same logic address, of the other data nodes of the redundancy groups, asynchronous redundancy computing is conducted and data migration instructions are sent after checked information is stored. The data nodes are further used for receiving the data migration instructions and migrating the write operation data blocks to an RAID4 data set. The RAID1 and RAID4 hybrid structure network storage system and method effectively solve the problem that in a concentrated redundancy management method, a control node becomes the performance bottleneck.
