A volume control device comprises an audio frequency amplifier, a sound collector, a weighter, a comparator, a storer and a central processor, wherein the audio frequency amplifier is used for outputting an amplified audio signal; the sound collector is used for detecting various sound sources in environment except for the audio signal and the intensities of the various sound sources; the weighter is used for acquiring a total noise intensity after superposition of the various sound sources; the comparator compares the difference between the obtained total noise intensity and the audio signal intensity; the storer is used for storing a gain table; the central processor is used for acquiring the gain adjustment amount of the audio frequency amplifier according to the difference and the gain table, and correspondingly increasing or decreasing the gain of the audio frequency amplifier according to the gain adjustment amount so as to correspondingly adjust the volume of the audio signal.
