The quaternary ammonium salt disinfectant composition is characterized in that a host quaternary ammonium salt disinfectant composition is prepared from the following components in percentage by weight: 0.005% to 2.00% of single-chain quaternary ammonium salt, 0.005% to 3.00% of double-chain quaternary ammonium salt, 0.0001% to 0.001% of Cu2<+>-containing synergist, and the balance of solvent. The method comprises the step of fully and uniformly stirring the components at normal temperature to obtain the quaternary ammonium salt disinfectant composition. The quaternary ammonium salt disinfectant composition has good broad-spectrum germicidal efficacy, can effectively extinguish various bacteria such as escherichia coli, bacillus subtilis and staphylococcus aureus, and also can effectively extinguish various moulds such as blue mould, aspergillus niger and aspergillus flavus, as well as effectively extinguish various saccharomycetes such as tritirachium album.
