Abstract

The invention provides a renaming method and a renaming system for file synchronization among multiple devices. The method comprises the following steps: step 1, a request of acquiring synchronization information is sent by target process to a server or source process; step 2, current metadata of all files of a server side or a source process side is queried by the sever or the source process, and the synchronization information is acquired and then sent to the target process; step 3, the synchronization information is compared with the metadata of the local files by the target process, and newly added file collection and deleted file collection are determined, so that renaming operation is calculated; and step 4, the renaming operation is executed by the target process, and file attributes of renamed files are adjusted and the local metadata information is updated according to execution results. The method and the system solve the problem about renaming operation in the prior art of the file synchronization; complexity of a synchronization system of the multiple devices is reduced; and relevant data transfer volume of renaming is reduced.
