The method comprises the following steps of: judging whether a hardware information obtaining program module is installed in a first terminal; in the case that the hardware information obtaining program module is installed, obtaining hardware information of the first terminal via the hardware information obtaining program module, wherein the hardware information contains N pieces of to-be-compared hardware data information; in the case that the hardware information obtaining program module is not installed, obtaining browser software information of the first terminal, wherein the browser software information contains N pieces of to-be-compared software data information; and identifying the first terminal based on the hardware information or the browser software information. With the adoption of the method, the user terminal can be accurately identified regardless of whether a user control is installed or not.
