Abstract

The invention discloses an algorithm for redirecting and cartooning a face expression on the basis of motion capture data. The conversion from a motion capture data space to a target face model motion space is realized by establishing a redirecting model for the face expression on the basis of a radial basis function for a geodesic distance. During a conversion process, a face grid structure is considered and a global problem during the space conversion process by using the radial basis function is mainly solved. At the cartooning stage of the face expression, a result of space conversion is utilized and a face deforming model on the basis of the radial basis function for the geodesic distance is used for interpolating the motion data, so that a deforming result of the whole model is obtained. According to the algorithm, a same capture sequence can be applied to different face models; the model is easier to convert; a same target model can be used for different capture sequences; the reuse of the motion capture data is realized; and the stronger cartooning real sense is achieved.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a geodesic-based radial basis function facial expression redirection and animation method, and belongs to the technical field of image processing. Background technique [0002] In recent years, with the development of the animation industry, 3D games and 3D film and television production, computer facial expression animation technology has received extensive attention. The facial expression animation mainly studies how to simulate the facial expression changes in the computer. Facial expression is a way of information exchange between people, and the emotional state of people can also be judged through the change of expression. In the field of digital entertainment, especially in film and television and game production, facial expression animation plays a pivotal role. In addition, in the fields of video conferencing, computer-aided teaching, virtual reality, human-computer interaction interface design and psychology, the rel...
