Abstract

A mainboard comprises a detecting and switching circuit, SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) connectors and a PCIEx16 (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express) connector, wherein the detecting and switching circuit is connected with the SATA connectors and the PCIEx16 connector, the PCIEx16 connector is also connected with an SAS (Serial Attached Small Computer System Interface) card, and the detecting and switching circuit correspondingly controls the connection between the detecting and switching circuit and the PCIEx16 connector by judging the signal received by the detecting and switching circuit, and is disconnected from the PCIEx16 connector when receiving an SATA signal, so that the mainboard can communicate with an SATA hard disk through the detecting and switching circuit and the SATA connector; and when receiving an SAS signal, the detecting and switching circuit is connected with the PCIEx16 connector, so that the mainboard can communicate with SAS hard disks through the SATA connectors, the detecting and switching circuit, the PCIEx16 connector and the SAS card.
