AI Technical Summary

Benefits of technology

This technology allows for efficient use of computer systems while still maintaining their efficiency when they enter or leave a standby mode with minimal activity. By integrating multiple VMs onto one another within this space, resource usage becomes more flexible without affecting overall performance. Additionally, if there were any issues like excessively high temperatures during these periods, the software could adjust its settings accordingly to prevent damage from overheating certain parts of the hardware components. Overall, this technology helps reduce costs associated with managing large amounts of computing capacity efficiently.

Problems solved by technology

Technological Problem addressed in this patents relating to the challenge faced during VMware implementation (VM) deployment operations involves efficiently integrating different types of services into each host computer while minimizing interference from external sources like environmental factors. Current solutions involve either static assignment of physical servers or dynamic movement across virtual machines without considering their importance in terms of overall managerial functioning. Additionally, these techniques only focus on optimally assigning memory usage among various guests rather than addressing specific tasks within them.

Abstract

The invention discloses a virtual machine resource optimal control method and a control system based on an elastic virtual machine pool, in the technical field of computer application. The virtual machine resource optimal control method comprises the following steps: obtaining physical energy consumption and resource utilization information corresponding to all virtual machines in operation, by acquiring the operation data of a current physical server; obtaining the quantitative relation between the current resource and the current energy consumption by calculating according to energy consumption model; estimating the quantity of needed information corresponding to each virtual machine by use of a self-adaptive model and obtaining a resource allocation scheme; and adjusting the operating condition of the physical server according to the resource allocation scheme and carrying out virtual machine migration, wherein the acquisition of the operation data of the current physical server refers to the step of recording the utilization rate of the CPU (central processing unit) of the physical server, the response time of load, and the response time of a user target by setting a monitoring process in an operation system of the physical server. By using the virtual machine resource optimal control method and the control system, the problems such as performance degradation and power consumption increasing caused by frequent virtual machine migration resulting from a Green Cloud architecture are solved and the requirements on the needed service quality of users are satisfied.
