The invention discloses a method for cultivating ecological turtles in a rice field, relating to cultivating methods of turtles. The method is characterized by comprising the following steps of: selection of a rice field: selecting a parcel of the rice field which is convenient to nurse, has a good water source condition and is smooth in stream current and convenient in discharge and irrigation as a rice field for cultivating turtles; arrangement of an escape-preventing facility: constructing a bounding wall which is 50cm higher than the ground around the selected rice field by materials such as bricks, cement boards, wood boards and the like; ditching of turtle ditches: ditching turtle ditches in the rice field, or replacing the turtle ditches with strip ditches on edges of the rice field; putting of turtle fries: generally putting turtle fries which are more than 2 years old in the rice field, preferably putting 300-600 turtle fries in each mou of rice field, and additionally putting 50-60 parent turtles which are 6 years old in a ratio of female turtles to male turtles being 2:1 or 3:2 in each mou of rice field if young turtles need to be bred; feeding: feeding aquatic insects, tadpoles, little fishes, tubificidaes and the like to the young turtles as many as possible, and mainly feeding snails, little fishes, animal bodies, the internal organs of the animal bodies or vegetal fodders such as soybeans, corns and the like to adult turtles; and management of water quality: frequently filling fresh water and controlling a water level.
