The simulation system comprises: an electromagnetic rail gun subsystem, an object subsystem, a simulation operation control subsystem, a process monitoring subsystem, a data recording subsystem, a playback and visual display subsystem. By using the electromagnetic rail gun simulation system established according to the method of the invention, state change of each component of the electromagnetic rail gun can be analyzed through multi angles, such as data, a curve and vision; a plurality of processes, such as an emission process of the electromagnetic rail gun, a flight process of a bullet, the process of smashing an object and the like, can be panoramically displayed; the simulation process and the speed can be reasonably controlled and adjusted; a system analysis of the electromagnetic rail gun can be supported. By using the system and themethod of the invention, the different simulation subsystem can be configured to realize the electromagnetic rail gun simulation systems which have different purposes according to a research task andthe application purpose of the electromagnetic rail gun. Therefore, strong portability, reusability and expansibility can be obtained.
